If you have followed the latest news, I’ve been speaking for a few weeks of a new apartment where I plan to do heavy work. And if you have followed very closely, you must have seen a package of inspirations to show you my desires for decor, layout or type of decor.
As it is a project that is important to me and I have been talking to you for weeks now, I wanted to explain it to you in stages and in more detail.
To resume, the apartment is 66 square meters (I’ll show you his current “interior” in a future article but do not go too fast and keep a few surprises: P) and everything needs to be done inside.
When I say everything, I do not exaggerate. Electricity, plumbing, whole soil to retype, I know it will take a little time but I really look forward to start all that!
It is therefore composed of 3 rooms (a large living room and 2 bedrooms), a kitchen and a bathroom having for me the ideal size for an apartment of this type and a small storage room that will be very convenient. The goal is to create a large 2 rooms with an open space / dressing room and a new general decoration.
In this first article, I will speak more in images than in writing since the goal is to show you what is closest to my future apartment, in terms of colors, decoration, furnishings, equipment … I want to create a large living space with a large dressing room separated from a glass roof, allowing light to pass through every corner, a full equipped kitchen and optimized to move in a space to the most functional. The bedroom and the bathroom will be separated via an opening through the walls to create an intimate and aesthetic space.
I give you a little recap by room!
La Cuisine – The Kitchen
As you can see from these inspirations, I want something very vintage regarding colors and materials.
I’m waiting for 3D projections with the person in charge of SCHMIDT who will take care of the room to decide).
The kitchen is not very big (about 6 square meters I think) but we can place all the appliances needed for a kitchen, and that’s also what mattered to me. My kitchen today is missing space for equipments (I have no oven but a handset, no dishwasher and the fridge is quite small ..). The sink part is quite tight, it’s hard to cook for 2 personsand it’s a shame because we love!
The idea will be to create an optimal space to be able to have both storage, room to cook but also equipment for. It’s one of the most important rooms for me with the living room! You can see that in terms of colors, I would like to have a mix of brown and black (to be defined of course but that’s the idea) with a retro touch (the floor can be or credence). I would like to incorporate home appliances design (I saw some items at AEG) to play on the vintage side. I let you see the photo gallery 🙂
La Salle de Bain – The Bathroom
The bathroom is 3 square meters initially, we will slightly increase it by recovering a small space of unoccupied room (that is used “entrance” currently).
I want something clean, and spacious (as far as possible) but I do not want to put storage in every corner.
A large shower, a double basin wide enough for 2 people, a storage space / washing machine and an wall opening in the bedroom (I made 3D projections that I show you soon, it’s amazing!!)
For colors, I would like to use shades of gray with a dominant color (pale pink or navy blue) and incorporate a touch of white. The rest will be on the materials used (a black chrome Italian shower screen, a large mirror without storage, and a double basin with a wooden support).
The following in pictures!
La Chambre – The Bedroom
The concept of the bedroom is the one that will require the least work because it is simply the room where I want to avoid having too many things.
A brick wall, two bedside tables on each side, a clear painting on the walls and it’s ALL!
I want this room to be as clean as possible because today my bedroom is the room where everything is packed (it’s also my dressing room) and I feel like sleeping between jackets and bags.. The final touch will be to tear down the wall that exists today between the bedroom and the bathroom, to create an opening in the room and nowhere else!
Le Séjour – The Living Room
It is a little difficult to illustrate with the images because it is the part that will be the most modified. Two walls will be broken to create a very large room length (loft type) with a glass opening (that can be closed) creating a real space for a dressing room and that will be used only for this purpose.
The rest of the room will be a large living room of 6 / 7m long and about 3 wide, with a TV corner and a large central table to accommodate friends.
I still put some pictures of what match with the mood especially in terms of decoration and colors (this is the most difficult piece to create at the moment).
The floor will be a dark aged floor with two walls of different colors (probably a blue and off-white) incorporating both contemporary and vintage furniture (I cant wait to go to the flea markets to find some rare gems!). The rest is just below 🙂

I think I did a about the first inspirations.
I can already tell you that 3 partners join the adventure “STYLE YOUR HOME” and will help me on the project from the beginning to the end.
– CASTORAMA: that you all know for the most part (the French of course) who will take care of the project Bathroom.
– HUBSTAIRS : I came across this platform a bit by chance while browsing the net and I looked a little closer on social medias. The concept is awesome, you first discuss with an architect, you explain your project, your desires and the process begins. You send him the plans, the photos of the apartment and the most important thing, you discuss with him what YOU want. You start designing your apartment and I can tell you that thanks to these projections, you can see details and above it gives you a real idea how it will look like.
It’s also a young start-up and I think it’s important to work with young entrepreneurs / craftsmen as well.
I already had some draft plans made by Anais, the architect who is taking care of my project and it’s splendid, I can not wait to show you all that in the next article!
https://www.hubstairs.com
– FOR ME LAB: I’ll tell you more about it in another article, but this other young Start-up is specialized in tailor-made.
Furniture, accessories (lighting, seating …) and even glass. We “designed” a wooden table Edge Suar (I’ll tell you about it soon too) that will be accompanied by vintage leather seats. And we will probably also incorporate the glass that separate the rooms to the project (but the canopy may take longer because we have to wait to have started the work!).
It should also be known that the custom (whether plans or furniture) certainly costs a little more but it is a major investment. You create a unique piece, adapted to your interior and depending on the type of furniture, the room will give a real plus to the apartment or room.
Feel free to take a look at their website: https://formelab.com. There are some great pieces!
A very very fast for the future !!! 🙂
