TIME TO START

Here we are!

Exactly 1 month ago, I started to work on the apartment with my dad.
The goal was to prepare the work of the HelloCasa team (which was to start around the third week of July) as much as possible, by breaking down the walls and involving an electrician and a plumber to completely redo the electricity ( which was no longer up to standard) and prepare new water supplies according to the plans that had been established.

So we started the demolition with my father, broke down the wall you see below, to create a larger space and prepared the creation of a canopy. We also broke the wall on the left with the double door and the small existing wall return (which you see on the lower left). As you can see, there was a lot of garbage, either you choose to rent a truck and evacuate everything by yourself in waste, or you can call a specialized company to do it (this is what I advise you … it’s a small investment but will saves you a day).
Regarding electricity, to be more aesthetic, I asked for a total (or almost) embedding of all electrical parts, meaning : everything is hidden and invisible (in the walls). It was therefore necessary to think carefully about the positions of the switches, the choice of the locations of the electrical plugs, because once the work is done, it would be necessary to break again the part to modify it. I put a little electric plan in my way so that you realize that it was not easy : P
Regarding the plumbing, it was a little more “simple” since it was only necessary to redo the evacuations of water in the bathroom and to bring back to the standards the rest (apart from a new arrival of water for the future washing machine). The work took about 2 weeks both together (they were super efficient and especially the work is perfect, it was super important to choose the right professionals because I wanted something clean.)

I will talk in a dedicated article of the bathroom’s layout, which is a commun project with CASTORAMA. We made a space together in contact with their professionals. I had an appointment a few weeks ago in store to make my customized bathroom, using 3D software and especially to choose my furnitures and accessories. The wall that was initially between the bedroom and the bathroom was broken down to leave an opening for a canopy and a sliding door. The plumbing has been done, the room has been cleaned and I am now waiting for the Casto experts to come and work (I will work with them on the project and participate in the work, you will see all this soon). As a reminder, here is what the bathroom will look like:

THE KITCHEN IS WAITING FOR ITS RENOVATION. The plumbing has been done, the gas supply modified according to the technical plans established by SCHMIDT and electricity is up to standard. We have to clean the room, plaster the walls that have been hit by the removal of the old furniture (picture above on the right) and then we will paint everything in white while waiting for the delivery of our beautiful tiles (which I found on Asdescarreaux.com) and the intervention of SCHMIDT’s professionals who will install the kitchen from 25 September. It only remains to start!

The toilet has been changed and the water arrivals have been made. The next step: Breaking the wall on the left (the wall you see in the picture below where the bags are stored). The idea is to create a sliding door in the wall, so we will break the entire wall to incorporate the door into the new wall! You can see part of the process on Instagram : @DeuxièmeGauche
